He didn’t want a deal — he wanted a steal.
A thief took Black Friday bargain-hunting to a new level when he tried to swipe $826 worth of electronics from an Upper East Side Best Buy, police said.
Jose Marin, 30, of Washington Heights, stuffed the gadgets — including a PlayStation 4, a cellphone and Amazon Echo speakers — in a backpack and strolled out amid the mad dash for deals at 9:20 a.m. Friday, cops alleged.
He also allegedly took two sets of Insignia headphones.
But security guards spotted him and held him until cops arrived at the shop on Lexington Avenue and East 86th Street, according to police.
The cops searched Marin’s bag after the guards told them they saw him trying to open the PS4 box in the store, police said.
Along with the gadgets, the cops found a glass pipe with drug residue, police said. He was hauled away in cuffs.
The PS4 was selling for $399, while the headphones and speakers were $109 each and the cellphone $99, cops said.
Marin was charged with petit larceny, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. He was given a desk-appearance ticket.
Afterward, he allegedly asked cops, “Can I get my pipe back?”
Marin has eight prior arrests on charges including criminal mischief, theft of service and resisting arrest.
He is due back in court Dec. 10
A manager at the packed Best Buy store declined to comment on the theft, saying only, “We’re slammed right now.”
